GLENVILLE – After getting off to a slow start, the Scotia-Glenville baseball team put together a rally to pick up a 6-5 victory over Amsterdam on Monday.
Amsterdam took control in the top of the second inning, putting up five runs, however, Scotia-Glenville tied things up with five runs in the bottom of the third.
The score remained knotted 5-5 until the bottom of the sixth, when Nick Pedone tripled to lead off the inning, then scored on a sacrifice fly from Steve Nicklas to give the Tartans a 6-5 advantage.
Pedone went 4 for 4 in the game, including the triple, a double, two runs scored and two stolen bases. Nicklas was 1 for 2 with an RBI and stolen base, while Riley Jackson was 2 for 2 with an RBI.
Amsterdam’s Patrick Vidulich went 1 for 2 at the plate with four stolen bases, while Mason Gieseler collected two hits, and Chris Chirico was 1 for 2 with an RBI.
