The Mental Health Association in Fulton and Montgomery Counties celebrates selection as Hannaford Helps Reusable Bag Program beneficiary. The fundraiser is coming to a close and the MHA hopes people consider supporting its cause by purchasing a Hannaford Reusable Bag by the end of the month of June.

MHA is dedicated to being a progressive, collaborative organization that promotes wellness and recovery from mental illness and chemical dependency across the life span through high quality, effective programs, services and education. The nonprofit receives great honor to be chosen for this fundraising opportunity.

This program has been designed to support local nonprofits like the Mental Health Association of Fulton and Montgomery Counties. For every blue Hannaford Helps Reusable Bag with the good karma messaging purchased at these two locations: 15 Hannaford Plaza, Amsterdam and 235 Fifth Avenue Extension, Gloversville. The Mental Health Association in Fulton & Montgomery Counties will receive a $1 donation in order to help fulfill its mission of wellness and recovery to those who suffer from mental illness and chemical dependency.

“We appreciate Hannaford’s commitment to our communities, and the Hannaford Helps Reusable Bag is a great way to help its customers and our local non-profits,” said Janine Dykeman, executive director of the Mental Health Association in Fulton and Montgomery Counties.

The Mental Health Association in Fulton and Montgomery Counties has a goal of raising $250.00 during June as a beneficiary of the program, which is equivalent to 250 bags bought in support of the cause.

The Mental Health Association in Fulton and Montgomery Counties plans to use the projected funds to support its Mental Health First Aid educational program, in order to further carry out its mission, including that  “Mental Health First Aid teaches you how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illnesses and substance abuse disorders in your community.”
