Seven different organizations and artists in Assembly District 118 were awarded grants, totaling $604,000 from the New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA).

NYSCA’s mission is to foster and advance the full expansion of New York state’s arts, culture, and creativity for all. Granting organizations and artists in the Mohawk Valley and Adirondacks, according to Assemblyman Smullen, is a great way to enrich communities.

“Congratulations to all the organizations and artists who received grant awards from NYSCA in our Assembly District 118 community! Providing these artistic programs the resources and funding necessary to further enrich our community is essential—keeping the arts alive and thriving enhances our region’s sense of identity and unique culture, as well as our economy and tourism,” Assemblyman Robert Smullen (R,C-Mohawk Valley and the Adirondacks) said in a release. “I am very excited to see these organizations put the grant money they have received to good use so we can continue to revitalize communities across the state in constructive and creative ways as they grow.”
