JOHNSTOWN — Despite thinking their season was over when they finished the regular season last weekend with a home loss to Corning, the Fulton-Montgomery Community College men’s soccer team got a new lease on life Sunday when they got the call they’d earned the No. 8 seed for the NJCAA Region 3 tournament.

Coach Cory Leggiero’s Raiders will visit the No. 1 seed Herkimer Generals in the quarterfinals Wednesday at 6 p.m.

“This is a huge step for the program. For far too long FM was looked at as an easy win. This team has really changed the perception. When you are one of the top eight teams in the region you are doing something right,” said Leggiero.
