Amsterdam native son Paul Mound and Phil Schoff, of St. Johnsville, will be inducted into the prestigious New York State Baseball Hall of Fame on Sunday, Nov. 12 at the Hilton Hotel in Troy.
The induction reception will begin at 4 p.m., the induction dinner will begin at 5 p.m.
Mound, currently the head baseball coach of Union College, will join MLB stars Sandy Koufax, Paul O’Neill, Shawon Dunston, Walt Weiss, Andy Van Slyke and BJ Surhoff.
Schoff will also be inducted, joining his brother Ted in the New York State Baseball Hall of Fame.
New York Yankees play-by-play announcer John Sterling will also be inducted as well former New York Mets general manager Omar Minaya.

LeRoux, Executive Director of the New York State Baseball Hall of Fame. “Both Paul and Phil have given much to game, both built a very impressive legacy in baseball on many levels. You couldn’t find two nicer, more worthy gentlemen than Paul Mound and Phil Schoff. It’s exciting to see them being inducted alongside legendary Dodger Hall of Fame pitcher Sandy Koufax and the other MLB players who all had extensive careers.”
There is a limited number of tickets available to the public and can be purchased by calling 518-877-5170. Tickets must be purchased in advance. There will be no autographs at the event. Tickets for the dinner are $75 per person.
