Lady Rams defeat S-G

SCOTIA — Madi Carmona served up six aces to go along with three kills and eight assists as the Amsterdam High School volleyball team notched a 3-1 win over Scotia-Glenville in Foothills Council action Wednesday.
The Lady Rams (3-7, 3-6 Foothills) won by scores of 25-11, 25-11, 28-30 and 25-17.
Adrianna Santiago added six aces, six kills and five assists for Amsterdam. Nicole DeRose added seven aces and Alyssa Kuchis chipped in four kills.
Maya Bellamy led Scotia-Glenville with five kills, two aces and three digs. Madison Wright added nine assists and Rhaymi Porter finished with four kills, two blocks and one ace.
Broadalbin-Perth 3, Gloversville 0
Cassy Bown had eight kills, six aces and four blocks as the Lady Patriots swept Gloversville by scores of 25-14, 25-11 and 25-11.
Eliana Fraser added five kills and 11 digs for B-P (8-1, 8-1), Lily Mitchell had 12 assists and Olivia Casey added five kills.
Macey Salvione led Gloversville (4-6, 4-5) with seven kills and nine digs. Maddy Avery added 10 digs and Aireana Muhlberger chipped in nine assists.
Section II Class A Championships
Amsterdam finished 12th in the team competition with a cumulative score of 414 at McGregor Links in Wilton.
CJ Durinick fired the low score for the Rams with a 91, tying for 32nd in the individual competition. Also for the Rams, Erin Rivera carded a 97.
Saratoga Springs finished with a score of 321 to win the team title by 12 strokes ahead of Bethlehem. Nolan Crowley of Saratoga carded a 75 to win the individual title by two shots ahead of Bethlehem’s Austin Fox.

Mekeel Christian 0
Lucas Jetty had a goal and an assist in the Falcons’ win.
Jacob Frank added a goal for Northville, and the Falcons also benefited from an own goal.
Fort Plain 1, Canajoharie 1 (OT)
Mack Frank found the back of the net for Canajoharie before Jaxson Yacowenia scored to equalize for Fort Plain as the two teams play to a draw.
Andrew Towse assisted on Frank’s goal for Canajoharie, and the Cougars got six saves from goalie Jared Bentz.
Travis Gabe stopped seven shots for Fort Plain.

Northville 6,
Mekeel Christian 0
Brytney Moore had a pair of goals, and the Lady Falcons scored three times in each half to beat Mekeel Christian.
Northville also got goals from Hannah Coupas, Jill Hadland and Grace Forsey.
Fort Plain 1, Canajoharie 0
Kendall Kennedy scored the lone goal of the game to send the Lady Hilltoppers to the win over Canajoharie.
Schoharie 8, Mayfield 1
Carrie Krohn had three goals and an assist, and Maddie Phelan provided two goals and two assists as Schoharie powered to the win.
Katie Krohn chipped in a goal and two assists for Schoharie, which also got goals from MacKenzie Barton and Adrianna Cornell. Lady Indians goalie Abby Wetsel made eight saves.
Mayfield’s lone goal came from Sydney Sheldon.
Galway 3, B-K-W 0
Griffen Gannon and Izzy Mancini each had a goal and an assist to lead Galway past B-K-W.
Sarah Ernst also scored for Galway, Callia Boudreau contributed an assist and the Golden Eagles got a combined shutout from goalies Grace Montague and Ruth Reichard.
Nicki Filkins turned away 20 shots for B-K-W.
Fonda-Fultonville 4, Oppenheim-Ephratah-St. Johnsville 0
Emma Rhodes scored two goals and Alyssa Duval and Stella Williams each added a goal apiece to lead Fonda-Fultonville to a win over OESJ.
F-F outshot OESJ 13-8.
Ryleigh Hensch made seven saves to record the shutout for F-F.
Fonda/Johnstown 84,
Ravena 82
Sophia Frenyea won the 200-yard freestyle and 100-yard breaststroke as Fonda/Johnstown picked up the overall win despite victories in just three of 11 events.
The team’s only other win came from Frenyea, Emma Rizzo, Abigail Rizzo and Emily Miles in the 400 freestyle relay to close out the meet and seal the win.
