Fatal accident reported
On deadline this morning, New York State Police in Mayfield confirmed they were on the scene of a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Midline Road and Route 107 in Broadalbin.
Little information was available; however, reports indicated there was a fatal accident involving two vehicles around 6 a.m. today. The Jaws of Life were also reportedly used at the scene.
Indications were the roads would be closed for a time while the investigation continues.

Woman killed in fire
SCOTIA (AP) -- Authorities say one person is dead after a fire broke out at an Albany-area apartment building.
Officials tell local media that crews at a nearby fire station were alerted around 8 p.m. Thursday to a blaze at the Ten Broeck Apartments in Scotia. Firefighters from multiple departments battled for the blaze. Officials say the fire appeared to have started in a rear apartment where a woman was found dead. Her name wasn't released this morning.
Worker dies at chip plant
MALTA (AP) -- Construction at a high-tech industrial complex in upstate New York has been halted after a 54-year-old man was killed in a construction accident.
State police say troopers were called around 6:30 p.m. Thursday to the Global Foundries complex in Malta.
Police say a six-man crew employed by John Danforth Construction of Tonawanda was moving an industrial air exchanger into a fourth-floor opening when the accident occurred. Troopers say Michael Hauf of the town of Saranac in Clinton County was killed.
Police investigate shooting
SCHENECTADY (AP) -- Authorities say they're investigating a fatal shooting in the city of Schenectady.
Police tell local media that officers were called around 1:30 a.m. Friday to a home on Main Street for a report of a shooting.
Officers say they found 28-year-old Angel Carrion dead from a gunshot wound to the chest.
No suspects are in custody.
Detectives remain at the scene this morning.
