Letters to the editor

Spreading the word with flowers

To the editor:

We were pleasantly surprised on Tuesday, April 22, to find Earth Day greetings and a small plant left by Paige, Lucia and Bella from our neighborhood. They didn't leave their last names so we are hoping that this letter will let them know that we appreciate their efforts to spread the word to reduce-reuse-recycle-replenish-restore and that the plant is growing.

Mary Lou Kristie,

New flags flying over Muni

To the editor:

On behalf of the Amsterdam Municipal Golf Course, I would like to thank Don Zarecki and Fred VanDeBogart and Post 701 for the two new flags that now fly high over the course.

The American flag and the POW-MIA flag were donated by the post.

It's fitting for the course and our city to show respect for the military.

Thank you from a vet.

Joe Merendo,

The writer is the PGA professional at Amsterdam Municipal Golf Course.
