Mindy McCready's funeral is set for Tuesday in Fla.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Mindy McCready's funeral has been scheduled for Tuesday in her hometown of Fort Myers, Fla.

The funeral for the late country star will be held at Crossroads Church and will be private.

A Friday news release says a memorial organized by friends and the music community is tentatively scheduled for March 6 at Cathedral of the Incarnation.

McCready committed suicide Sunday at her home in Heber Springs, Ark., days after leaving a court-ordered substance abuse treatment program.

The 37-year-old mother of two died from a single gunshot to the head about a month after her longtime boyfriend David Wilson was believed to have killed himself in the same location.

Oldest member of the Staples Singers dies

CHICAGO (AP) -- Cleotha Staples, the eldest sibling in the highly influential gospel group The Staples Singers, has died. She was 78.

Staples family friend and music publicist Bill Carpenter says Staples died Thursday at her Chicago home after suffering from Alzheimer's disease for the last decade.

The Staples Singers began as a way for Roebuck "Pops" Staples to entertain his family, which included five children -- Cleotha, known as "Cleedi," Pervis, Yvonne, Mavis and Cynthia. He taught the children gospel songs and accompanied them on his guitar. Two decades later they became unlikely hit makers for the Stax label.

Staples was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with her family in 1999 and received a lifetime achievement award from the Grammys in 2005.

Justin Timberlake and Jay-Z announce joint tour

NEW YORK (AP) -- Put on your suit and tie: Justin Timberlake and Jay-Z are hitting the road together.

The performers announced Friday that they'll embark on a 12-city stadium tour that will kick off July 17 in Toronto. "Legends of the Summer" will wrap up Aug. 16 in Miami. Stops on the tour also include New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Philadelphia and Boston.

Jay-Z is featured on Timberlake's comeback single, "Suit & Tie." Timberlake's new album, "The 20/20 Experience," will be released March 19.

Cirque gives clues to Michael Jackson show

LAS VEGAS (AP) -- Las Vegas is combining its love of mega pop-stars and over-the-top theatrics for a new Michael Jackson Cirque du Soleil show opening this summer.

Cirque du Soleil CEO Daniel Lamarre announced Thursday that the company's newest show will be called "Michael Jackson ONE." The show at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino on the Strip will start preview performances May 23. It will officially premiere June 29.

The show is the second collaboration between the acrobatic company and Jackson's estate. The first production was the traveling show, "Michael Jackson: Immortal World Tour."

The title is intended to evoke a central paradox of the king of pop's multifaceted persona and changing musical styles.

CNN's Soledad O'Brien leaving morning show

NEW YORK (AP) -- CNN's Soledad O'Brien won't immediately be leaving CNN even though her job as morning show host is ending.

New CNN boss Jeff Zucker said Thursday that he has reached a deal to help fund a production company for O'Brien, who will be making three documentaries for CNN and host this year's "Black in America" documentary.

Zucker is developing a new morning show around Chris Cuomo. He is expected to be teamed with Erin Burnett.

O'Brien said the deal will let her do what she wants to do most, confronting difficult topics and telling underreported stories.

'America's Got Talent' is adding a little spice

NEW YORK (AP) -- NBC says former Spice Girl Melanie Brown is joining the judges' panel of "America's Got Talent."

Brown, also known as Scary Spice during her time with the 1990s pop group, will take her seat alongside Howie Mandel and Howard Stern when the variety competition show returns for its eighth season this summer on NBC.

Brown was previously a contestant on ABC's "Dancing with the Stars." In 2010, she starred with her family in a reality series for The Style Network.

She recently completed a two-season run as judge on the Australian edition of "The X Factor" and for one season was co-host of the Australian "Dancing With the Stars."

DC pairing Batman, Superman in new title

PHILADELPHIA (AP) -- DC Entertainment says it will unveil a new ongoing series focusing on Superman and Batman, two of the publisher's best-known and revered heroes.

"Batman/Superman" is set to debut in June and will be written Greg Pak and illustrated by Jae Lee.

It will focus on how the two iconic heroes first met in the publisher's relaunched universe, dubbed The New 52.

Pak says DC is giving he and Lee "some real leeway to do some really important storytelling" in the series that will give readers the opportunity to delve deep into the characters, their interaction and the effects on the wider New 52 universe.

Diane Lane, Josh Brolin divorcing after 8 years

NEW YORK (AP) -- Diane Lane and Josh Brolin are divorcing after eight years of marriage.

A representative for the couple confirmed the split Thursday. Brolin and Lane were married in 2004 in the second marriage for both.

They don't have any children together.

Lane was previously married to Christopher Lambert. They divorced in 1994 and have a 19-year-old daughter.

Brolin was previously married to Alice Adair. They also divorced in 1994 and have two children: an 18-year-old daughter and a 24-year-old son.

The separation was first reported by Us Weekly.

Lane received an Oscar nomination for her performance in the 2002 film "Unfaithful" and co-stars in the upcoming Superman film "Man of Steel."

Brolin was Oscar-nominated for his performance in 2008's "Milk" and starred in the recently released "Gangster Squad."
