Usher nabs 'Voice' win with Josh Kaufman

UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. (AP) -- Soulful rocker Josh Kaufman has the winning voice.

The 38-year-old from team Usher was crowned the season six winner of NBC's "The Voice" Tuesday.

"It was a lot of nerves and heart-racing and it felt like forever," Kaufman said.

This is the first win for Usher, who also coached during season four. Usher relished his triumph over previous winners Adam Levine and Blake Shelton. He joked that the Maroon 5 frontman was likely "behind the stage counting votes."

Shelton's country crooner Jake Worthington came in second place, and singer-songwriter Christina Grimmie from team Levine took third.

Sir Paul still ill, cancels South Korea concert

SEOUL, South Korea (AP) -- Paul McCartney has canceled his concert in South Korea next week due to the virus-caused illness that forced him to call off his entire Japan tour, organizers said Wednesday.

The former Beatle, who turns 72 next month, had planned to hold concerts in Japan and South Korea as part of his world tour.

"I was really looking forward to visiting and playing in South Korea for the first time and I'm sorry to be letting fans down," McCartney was quoted as saying in a statement released by Seoul-based Hyundai Card Co. Ltd., an organizer for his South Korea concert. "I'm very disappointed by this and hope to be able to visit soon."

Investigation continues into death of actor's wife

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Michael Jace projected the image of a doting, hands-on father and husband to neighbors, but authorities are now trying to determine what prompted the veteran actor to shoot and kill his wife while his young sons were in the home.

According to police, Jace shot his wife multiple times after she returned home with their children Monday evening. He called 911 and told a police dispatcher what he did and stepped out of the home just as officers arrived to find April, his wife of nearly 11 years, dead in the hallway. The handgun, which detectives believe belonged to the actor, was recovered from the home, and the couple's sons were handed over to relatives after Jace was taken into custody.

Jace, who played a police officer in the hit FX series "The Shield," remains in jail in lieu of $1 million bail, and investigators were expected today to continue their investigation and prepare a murder case that will likely be filed against the actor on Thursday.

An autopsy may be performed on April Jace and Los Angeles Police Detective Dean Vinluan said investigators will be reviewing multiple 911 calls about the shooting to help build their case.
