SUNY Albany

ALBANY -- Michael Hardies-Medwid, of Amsterdam, has been named to the State University of New York at Albany dean's list for spring 2014 semester, where he graduated from in May.

He was a biology major and a public health minor maintaining a 3.85 grade point average.

He received a Volunteer of the Year Award from Albany Medical Center for 2013-2014.

He will be continuing his studies in the health care field.

Medwid is the son of Michael and Colleen Medwid, of Amsterdam.

Paul Smith's College

PAUL SMITHS -- The following area students were named to the dean's list at Paul Smith's College during the spring 2014 semester. Each earned a semester average of 3.3 or higher to receive this distinction:

Lydia Barnes of Stratford, who is majoring in natural resource sustainability.

Lauren Henderson of Amsterdam, who is majoring in natural resource sustainability.

Michelle Michelin of Northville, who is majoring in culinary arts and service management.

Kyle Sweet of Saint Johnsville, who is majoring in biology.

SUNY Oneonta

ONEONTA -- Megan Ottati, of Amsterdam, was one of 74 SUNY Oneonta student-athletes named to the State University of New York Athletic Conference All-Academic Team for the spring 2014 season.

To qualify for the team, a student must be varsity athlete who has completed the entire season and earned a minimum grade-point average of 3.3 for the semester in which they competed. Ottati, who is majoring in dietetics, was a member of the track & field team.
