Marie Heiser Murray

Marie Heiser Murray, wife and mother, died on Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at Ellis Hospital.

Born October 1, 1930 to Stephen and Ann Gledhill Heiser, Marie was raised in Amsterdam, NY and attended Jr. College in Massachusetts.

She was married to Richard R. Murray from September 1, 1951 until his passing after 44 years of marriage. They proudly built their home together and lived at 4 Bossi Lane in Guilderland where Marie stayed until June of 2012, when she took up residence at Atria Crossgate in Albany.

Marie was a member of Lynnwood Reformed Church, owned a ceramic studio for several years, was a member and past president of the Hammond Organ Society and was a past EMT, board member and life member of the Western Turnpike Rescue Squad.

Marie is survived by her daughter and son in law, Jane and Louis Pfaffenbach, her son and daughter in law, James and Alice Murray and four grandchildren, Carrie and Luke Pfaffenbach and Stephen and Kathleen Murray.

Marie was also predeceased by many loyal and loving canine companions.

Calling hours will be held on Friday evening from 6:00-8:00 pm at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 5216 Western Tpk. (Rt. 20) in Guilderland.

Funeral services will begin on Saturday, 9:00 am at Lynnwood Reformed Church, 3714 Carman Rd.

Burial will follow the services at Fairview Cemetery in Amsterdam.

In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated in her memory to the Richard R. Murray Animal Shelter, C/O Guilderland Animal Hospital, Dr. Michael Casler, RD 2, Mc Cormacks Corners, Altamont, NY 12009 or to the American Theater Organ Society, Hudson Mohawk Chapter, C/O Proctors Theater, 432 State St. Schenectady, NY, 12305.
