Troy top Lady Rams

TOWN OF AMSTERDAM -- Nina Fedullo scored a team-high 13 points, but the Amsterdam High School girls basketball team couldn't shake a strong start from defending New York State Class A champion Troy or a tough night at the free throw line in dropping a 56-45 decision Friday night in Big 10 play.

Kiana Patterson hit four 3-pointers on her way to a game-high 19 points for Troy, while Aliyah Gillespie chipped in 11 points and Mary Pattison scored 10. The Flying Horses outscored Amsterdam 35-19 in the first half and never looked back en route to victory.

In addition to 13 points from Fedullo, Caitlin Gannon scored all 11 of her points in the second half for Amsterdam (1-3, 1-3 Big 10), while Brady Santiago added eight points and Kaitlyn Devine scored seven. The Lady Rams were hampered by a 9-of-24 performance from the free throw line.

Amsterdam does not return to action until Thursday, when the Lady Rams host a non-league game against Johnstown.

Western Athletic Conference

Fort Plain 49, Galway 44

Abby Boyer poured in 18 points and Haley Kilmartin added 17 points to help Fort Plain to a win over Galway.

Galway held a 17-9 first quarter lead before Fort Plain rallied with big showings in the second and fourth quarters, outscoring the Lady Golden Eagles 31-15.

Briannah Florian scored 11 points to lead Fort Plain.

Erica Chase scored 18 points to lead Galway.

Mayfield 48, O-E-SJ 32

Julie Hampton scored 17 points and Kaylee Bumpus followed with 11 points to key Mayfield's win over Oppenheim-Epratah-St. Johnsville.

Rylie Smith scored 15 points to lead O-E-SJ.

Canajoharie 49,

Saratoga Catholic 33

Alex Kane compiled 14 points and Ariannah Logan and Jenelle Dillenbeck added eight and six points, respectively to lift Canajoharie to a win over Saratoga Catholic.

Kaylie Fish scored 13 points to pace Saratoga Catholic.

Foothills Council

Broadalbin-Perth 32, Gloversville 26

Nicole Traver led a balanced attack with eight points to lift Broadalbin-Perth to a win over Gloversville.

Tatlana Ivery and Zoe Simonson chipped in with six points apiece.

Stacia Griesemer had 10 points to spark Gloversville.


Western Athletic Conference

Saratoga Catholic 55, Canajoharie 50

Evan Pescetti tallied 12 points and Luke Spicer and Ryan Czarnecki added 11 and 10 points, respectively to lift Saratoga Catholic to a win over Canajoharie.

Josh Gonzalez scored a game-high 21 points to lead Canajoharie. Dillon Veeder chipped in with 11 points and Logan Sala contributed with eight points.

Fort Plain 64, Galway 21

Zach Florian scored 12 points and Eric Orlogio added 12 points and 12 rebounds to lift Fort Plain to an easy win over Galway.

Fort Plain (1-2, 2-3) had leads of 14-5 after one quarter and 29-13 at the half to cruise to the win.

Mike Mattice scored 10 points to lead Galway.

Mayfield 53, O-E-SJ 50

Josh Gallup and Todd Briggs scored 14 and 12 points, respectively to propel Mayfield to a win over Oppenheim-Epratah-St. Johnsville.

Dylan Klock pumped in 22 points to lead O-E-SJ.

Colonial Council

Schalmont 46,

Fonda-Fultonville 40

Schalmont went on a 15-4 fourth quarter run en route to a win over Fonda-Fultonville.

Lucas Curtin scored 16 points and Devin Murphy had 13 points to lead Schalmont.

Will Turner compiled 15 points to lead Fonda-Fultonville. Mace Madore added eight points and Cam Ives finished with seven points.
