F-F's Turner scores 37 points in loss

VOORHEESVILLE -- Fonda-Fultonville's Will Turner scored a career-high 37 points and grabbed seven rebounds, but it wasn't enough as Voorheesville defeated the Braves 65-52 in a Colonial Council boys basketball game on Tuesday night.

Voorheesville outscored Fonda-Fultonville 58-37 over the final three quarters.

Turner hit six 3-pointers on the way to his career night. Ryan Derby chipped in with eight points for Fonda-Fultonville.

Dylan Hensel hit seven 3-pointers -- including five in the second quarter -- to finish with 21 points for the Blackbirds, while Noah Crawford added 11 points, eight rebounds and five assists.

Western Athletic Conference

Galway 64, Mayfield 28

Dylan Toscano nearly equaled Galway by himself with a game-high 26 points as the Panthers streaked to a victory.

Ryan Hennessy added nine points and 15 rebounds for Mayfield.

Dylan Gregory led the way for Galway with 10 points, making him the first Eagles player this season to crack double digits in the scoring column.

Northville 63, St. Johnsville 51

Kalob Russell scored all 17 of his points in the second half as the Falcons scored 41 points after intermission to pull past St. Johnsville.

Jim Grega added 15 points and Barcley Hayward scored 10 for Northville (2-2, 1-1), while Tim Monette scored nine points and grabbed 12 rebounds.

Dylan Klock knocked down four 3-pointers on his way to leading St. Johnsville (0-3, 0-2) with 16 points. Brandon Campione chipped in with 14 points.

Foothills Council

Gloversville 51,

Broadalbin-Perth 43

Gloversville placed three players in double figures en route to a win over Broadalbin-Perth.

Hunter Goodwin paced Gloversville with 15 points. Asa Barnhill and Kevin Johnston scored 13 and 10 points, respectively.

Ben Bellandi and Preston Taylor each scored 12 points to lead B-P. Andre Taylor chipped in with nine points.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Colonial Council

Fonda-Fultonville 72,

Voorheesville 61

Emily Frollo scored 20 points to pace three Lady Braves in double figures as Fonda-Fultonville picked up its first win over Voorheesville as a member of the Colonial Council.

Emily Parslow added 18 points for the Lady Braves, while Monica Derby had a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds. Jeananna Warner also grabbed 11 boards.

Anna Feller had a game-high 22 points to lead the Lady Blackbirds.

Western Athletic Conference

Northville 34, St. Johnsville 32

Lyndsey Wadworth's game-high 18 points paced the Falcons to a tightly-contested win over St. Johnsville.

Kelly VanNostrand added 11 points for the Lady Falcons.

Rylie Smith led St. Johnsville with 12 points.
