Annual wreath auction to benefit Old Fort Johnson

Deck the Doors at Amsterdam City Hall, a silent auction of wreaths to benefit Old Fort Johnson National Historic Landmark, will open this weekend and run through Dec. 1.

Festive wreaths for all seasons will decorate the doors at Amsterdam City Hall and all will be available to bid on in a silent auction. All proceeds will go to Old Fort Johnson's Flood Recovery Fund.

The opening will take place from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, with local author Bob Cudmore speaking on regional history at 1:30 and 2:30 p.m. and signing his latest book.

The Amsterdam High School Select Chorus will perform on Saturday at 2 p.m., and Rachelle Cotugno will be singing Christmas carols on Sunday at 1 p.m.

Amsterdam City Hall is located at 61 Church St. in Amsterdam.
