At least four males, one holding a gun, attacked a Domino's Pizza delivery driver while he was working on Lefferts Street in Amsterdam Monday night, police said. Police are asking anyone who has information about the armed robbery to contact them.

The driver told police that he was making the delivery on Lefferts Street when he was approached by at least four males. The victim said one of the men pointed a gun at him, placed him in a chokehold and demanded his money.

The victim said he heard at least three other males speaking while he was placed in the chokehold, police said. He turned over his money to the male with the weapon.

Officers said the suspect then struck the victim in the back of the head and fled from the scene on foot. The victim fell to the ground and watched at least one male run south on Lefferts Street. He did not sustain any injury that required medical attention.

He was then able to contact police.

Officers secured the scene and brought in a K9 to track the area. They were also able to obtain a phone number for the caller placing the order.

The investigation in ongoing and police are following up on leads.

Those with information are asked to contact police at 842-1100.
