QUEENSBURY -- Andy Irizarry had a game-high 18 points to go along with seven rebounds as the Fulton-Montgomery Community College men's basketball team got a balanced effort Tuesday to post a 69-58 victory over Adirondack Community College.
Khaleeq Baum chipped in 11 points for the Raiders, while Kadeem Stanislas scored nine and Darius Ward had seven points. F-MCC won the game despite shooting 0-for-11 from 3-point range.
Matt Stevens had 15 points and John Joseph scored 14 to lead Adirondack CC.
F-MCC women soar past Adirondack
QUEENSBURY -- Takima Lucky had a game-high 29 points on 13-of-23 shooting as the Fulton-Montgomery Community College women's basketball team rolled to a 74-45 victory Tuesday night over Adirondack Community College.
Kassandra Flowers added 18 points for F-MCC, while Cheryl Osborne had nine points and 14 rebounds to aid the Lady Raiders in the rout.
Kara Tecl scored 15 points and Jamie McLaughlin had a double-double with 11 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Timberwolves in defeat.
Fort Plain holding fundraiser game
The Fort Plain High School girls basketball program is sponsoring a game between the Harlem Superstars comedy all-star basketball team and a Fort Plain Dream Team made up of locals and faculty, which will be held Friday at 7 p.m. at the Harry Hoag Elementary School.
Tickets for the event are $7 in advance or $8 at the door, with children under five years old admitted for free with a paying adult. Tickets can be purchased in advance from any Fort Plain girls basketball player, at Kelly's Korner Kuts, at the Fort Plain Athletics Office or by calling Phil Karker at 518-844-6943.
Doors are scheduled to open for the event Friday at 5:45 p.m.
Cleanup session Saturday at Isabel's
The Amsterdam Youth Baseball League will hold a field cleanup session Saturday starting at 9 a.m. at Isabel's Field.
All volunteers are encouraged to bring rakes and shovels to help in preparation to get the field ready for the 2013 season.
