Man killed, woman hurt in accident

MAYFIELD -- An early Sunday morning accident just outside the village of Broadalbin left one man dead and another woman in serious condition at Albany Medical Center Hospital.

According to Fulton County District Louise Sira, the couple involved in the crash, whose names have not yet been released, left the Broadalbin Hotel sometime after midnight.

Sira said the unidentified driver lost control as it rounded a curve on County 155, striking a utility pole.

Both people were ejected from the vehicle.

The Fulton County District Attorneys Office was on the scene and is assisting in the investigation.

The accident is remains under investigation by the State Police Reconstruction Unit.

No further information was made available this morning.

County Highway 155 between Route 30 and the Broadalbin village line was closed for several hours Sunday after the crash.
