Eleanor F. Czelusniak

Mrs. Eleanor F. Czelusniak, 86, passed away October 11, 2012 at St. Luke Health Services in Oswego, NY.

Born in Amsterdam, NY on June 1, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Clara Burnley Jobin.

A lifelong area resident, Eleanor was a graduate of the former St. Joseph's Parochial School and Wilber H. Lynch High School.

She was united in marriage to Edward W. Czelusniak on November 23, 1946 whom predeceased her on August 26, 1999.

She worked for Mohasco Industries, the Amsterdam School District, Montgomery County Offices, and the Carl Company.

Eleanor was a member of the former St. Joseph's Parish, where she served as financial secretary for the Altar Rosary Society. She also became a member of St. Mary's Church, and after moving to Hagaman in 1990, she became a member of St. Stephen's Church where she served as president of the Rosary Society.

She loved tending to her garden and traveling with her husband, but first and foremost was her devotion to her family and friends, always making them feel so special.

Eleanor moved to Oswego, NY on September 11, 2001 be closer to her family where she became a member St. Joseph's Church and the Legion of Mary.

In addition to her husband Edward W. Czelusniak of 53 years, and parents Francis and Clara Jobin, Eleanor is predeceased by her siblings, Joseph, Robert, Richard, and Dorothy Jobin, Margaret Harrison and an infant sister, Leah Mae Jobin.

She is survived by her son, William E. Czelusniak of Baldwinsville, daughter, Linda (Mark) Abramski of Oswego, grandchildren Steven, Katie, Jyl, and great grandchildren Brittni, Ben, and Haleigh.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at 10 o'clock at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 o'clock at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, 156 East Main Street, Amsterdam with Rev. John Medwid as celebrant. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.

Relatives and friends are invited and may call Monday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
