Patricia A. Conrad

Mrs. Patricia A. Conrad, 71, of Broadalbin, N.Y., passed away peacefully Wednesday, October 3, 2012 after a short illness. She was surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Amsterdam, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late William F. and Helen Jaracz-Shelly. In 1961, she was united in marriage to Arthur C. Conrad, a marriage that lasted 51 years. Patricia was of the Roman Catholic Faith and a parishioner of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church in Amsterdam. She attended St. Mary's Institute and was a 1959 graduate of Amsterdam High School. Patricia also attended Europa School of Cosmetology, located in Schenectady.
For many years Patricia was self employed as a hair dresser in her home, she worked for the former Park Hill Adult Home, and Baptist Retirement Center located in Scotia, N.Y. For the past several years she was employed through Liberty Enterprises as a direct support professional at the Stewart Street residence. She truly loved this profession and her entire Liberty Family. Patricia was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family. She also enjoyed many trips to York Beach, Maine with her husband and family.
Patricia is survived by her loving husband; Arthur C. Conrad, son; Arthur "Michael" Conrad, daughters; Shelly(William)Janeski, and Christina(Edward)Majewski, grandchildren; Brandon Conrad, Michael Majewski, and Katherine Majewski, sister-in-law; Carol(Chester)Gizara. Many nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive. She was pre-deceased by her parents; William F. and Helen Jaracz-Shelly.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Tuesday October 9, 2012, at 9:15 A.M., at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, 156 East Main St., Amsterdam, N.Y. 12010. A calling period will take place on Monday, October 8, 2012 from 4-7 P.M. at the chapel of Betz, Rossi, and Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam, N.Y., 12010.
