Holloway sparks Steelers

In Little Giants Senior Division action earlier this week, Trey Holloway led the Steelers to a 13-0 victory against the Giants.

Holloway scored on runs of four and 15 yards in the second half, as the Steelers pulled away for the victory.

Defensive standouts for the Steelers were Jaden Fallen, Adam Noce and Kayla Traskos.

Steelers 8, Jets 0

Richard Battistini scored the game's lone touchdown on a two-yard run in the fourth quarter, as the Steelers emerged in a defensive struggle.

The Steelers also recorded a safety in the second quarter.

Defensive standouts for the Steelers were Tysean Hanna, Adam Noce and Norberto Santiago.

For the Jets, Jake Fura, Mike Gomez and Bailey Litchfield led the way on defense.

Bears 26, Patriots 6

The Bears jumped out to a 26-point lead, as four different players reached the end zone in the victory.

Dale Stanavich got the scoring started for the Bears, as he rumbled to the end zone on a 34-yard run in the first quarter. Then, in the second quarter, Stanavich teamed up with Jake Smitka to force a fumble, which Andre Jackson recovered and brought to the end zone.

In the third quarter, AJ Mercado and Smitka both scored rushing touchdowns, from 69 and 74 yards out, respectively.

The Patriots' Jacob Baird scored on a 65-yard dash in the fourth quarter.

Leading the way on defense for the Bears were Christian Mickus, Christopher Parker and Michael Spiezio.

For the Patriots, Baird, Orlando Rodriguez and Michael Ward excelled on defense.


Gold 27, Scarlet 12

Gold's Josiah Newborn scored three rushing touchdowns to lead his team to the victory.

Newborn hit in the second quarter twice, reaching from seven and 28 yards out. He also scored in the third quarter on a 29-yard rush.

Trevon Joyner scored twice for Scarlet, reaching the end zone on runs from 29 and 53 yards out.

Also scoring for Gold was Joey Scheeren, who had a 56-yard rush in the fourth quarter.

Scarlet 19, White 0

Trevon Joyner scored two touchdowns, while Zahki Fallen added another for Scarlet.

Defensive standouts for Scarlet were Fallen, Marcus Traskos and John Wolff.

For White, Rich Gannon, Jonathan Petruccione and Chris Rivera led the defensive charge.

Green 19, Purple 0

Ricardo Melendez scored the first two touchdowns for Green and Brennan Rivas added one more in the victory.

All three scores came on long runs, with Melendez reaching the end zone on dashes of 37 and 62 yards, and Rivas hitting from 54 yards out.

Helping to lead Green to the shutout were Jason Gonzalez, Connor Loucks and Devon Wilson.

For Purple, KJ Constantino, Christian Robinson and Gabriel Wheeler were the top defenders.

Gold 20, Purple 0

Josiah Newborn scored three touchdowns for Gold, twice on runs of 18 yards and once on an interception he returned 39 yards.

Defensive stars for Gold were Peyton Ausfeld, Derek Carella and Tyrell Douglas.

Purple's defensive standouts were Mekhi Curry, Quinn Healy and Gabriel Wheeler.

Blue 20, Orange 0

Marcus Jackson and Jesus Rivera Jr. each had touchdown runs in the first quarter to lead Blue to the victory.

Jackson's run came from 40 yards out, while Rivera -- also a defensive standout -- reached the end zone from five yards out.

Daniel Montalvo had Blue's other touchdown on a 19-yard scamper to the end zone.

Damian Montalvo forced two fumbles and recovered one for Blue on defense.
