St. Johnsville blanks B-K-W

Deven Battisti scored a first-half goal to lead St. Johnsville to a 1-0 victory over Berne-Knox-Westerlo in a Western Athletic Conference boys soccer game on Thursday.

Rickey Jasewicz stopped 13 shots to record the shutout for Berne-Knox-Westerlo.

Colonial Council

Albany Academy 5, Fonda-Fultonville 0

Jordan Newton scored two goals and Ray Jerome, Jordan Lockridge and Dami Osofisan added one goal apiece to lift Albany Academy to a win over Fonda-Fultonville.

Albany Academy jumped out to a 4-0 halftime lead and never looked back.

Tyler Folmsbee stopped 14 shots in the net for Fonda-Fultonville.

GIRLS SOCCER

Big 10

Catholic Central 3, Amsterdam 0

The Lady Crusaders remained unbeaten, as the Lady Rams could not stop the Big 10's top team.

Alexis Riffelbach had two goals for Catholic Central, while Annette Volpe added another score.

Cassandra Robataille had 22 saves for Amsterdam.

Foothills Council

Queensbury 6, Broadalbin-Perth 0

The Lady Patriots' Rachel Orapello made 11 saves, but B-P was no match for Queensbury.

Brittany LaPlant scored four goals for Queensbury.

Gloversville 2, Hudson Falls 1

Chanel Thomas scored two goals and Caroline Bakyta and Katie LeFever each had an assist to propel Gloversville to a victory over Hudson Falls.

Emily Gallagher scored the lone goal for Hudson Falls.

Alexis Capasso had nine saves in the net for Gloversville.

Nicole Sheloski had 13 saves for Hudson Falls.

WAC

Galway 2, Schoharie 0

Erica Chase and Kelly Phillips each scored a goal to lead the Lady Eagles to the victory. Lindsey Naughton made 23 saves in net for Galway.

Chase and Phillips each assisted on a score.

GIRLS TENNIS

Non-league

Amsterdam 8.5, Averill Park 0.5

All six Lady Rams singles players and a pair of doubles teams cruised to straight-set victories, as Amsterdam bested the Lady Warriors.

In singles action, No. 1 Cristiana Johnson defeated Darby Clobridge 6-2, 6-2; No. 2 Kristie Kaczmarek defeated Olivia Day 6-4, 6-1; No. 3 Veronica Marsh defeated Abby Clobridge 6-3, 6-1; No. 4 Brittany Durose defeated Ava Welling 6-2, 6-1; No. 5 Ella Dybas defeated Steliana Philip 6-2, 7-5; and, No. 6 Audrey Flint defeated Amanda Harrington 6-3, 6-4.

The first doubles team of Caitlyn Gannon and Tessa Filiberto won their match 6-2, 6-3, while Gabby Disalvi and Arizona Santagio, AHS' No. 2 doubles, won 6-3, 6-0.

The third doubles team of Lucia Liverio and Molly Monge tied in its match. Liverio and Monge won the first set, 7-6, before falling in the second set, 12-10. A third set was not played.

GIRLS VOLLEYBALL

Big 10

Troy 3, Amsterdam 1

Rachael Eaton compiled 11 assists and Riley Martin finished with eight kills to lead Troy to a win over Amsterdam.

Troy won by scores of 26-24, 10-25, 26-24, 25-10.

Bayley Archinal contributed with 10 kills, three blocks and three aces, Katie Ressel had 13 assists and two kills and Meaghan Sherlock finished with 10 service points for Amsterdam.

Colonial Council

Fonda-Fultonville 3, Albany Academy 2

Kerrigan McCaslin had 18 service points, including five aces and Cory Lais helped out with 15 service points to lead Fonda-Fultonville past Albany Academy.

Fonda-Fultonville (5-4, 6-5) won by scores of 25-15, 25-27, 21-25, 25-13, 25-14.

Gianna Mancini added five kills for the Lady Braves.

Non-league

Broadalbin-Perth 3, Schenectady 0

Maddie Gurga tallied six assists, three aces, three digs and two kills and Allison Lysiak added seven kills and four aces to lead Broadalbin-Perth to a convincing win over Schenectady.

B-P (5-2, 6-2) won by scores of 25-9, 25-17, 25-17.

Chelsea LeBlanc contributed to the win with three digs, two aces, one kill and one block.

On Wednesday, Broadalbin-Perth posted a 3-1 win over Gloversville.

B-P (won by scores of 19-25, 25-23, 25-23, 25-15.

Regan Reed finished with five aces, five kills and five digs and Gurga added 10 digs, five aces, three aces and two kills to help Broadalbin-Perth

LeBlanc chipped in with 11 digs, seven kills and one block.

WOMEN'S COLLEGE SOCCER

Hudson Valley Community College 5,

Fulton-Montgomery Community College 2

Silviana Giovannone and Sierra Sickler each scored a goal, but it wasn't enough as Fulton-Montgomery Community College lost to Hudson Valley Community College.

Sisna Maccharelli stopped 14 shots in the net for F-MCC (1-6).
