Ann P. Andrews

Ann P. Andrews, 93, passed away Thursday evening at the Edward L. Wilkinson RHCF. She had resided in Hagaman and prior to Wilkinson, she was a resident at Hillcrest Spring.

Born in Johnstone, Scotland on Dec. 10, 1919, she was the last surviving child of the late James and Mary Taggart Phoenix and came to Amsterdam as a child with her family.

Ann was a 1937 graduate of Wilbur H. Lynch High School.

She was an active member of the United Methodist Church, serving as a trustee, coordinator of the Prayer Chain, Sunday School teacher, Youth Group sponsor and the United Methodist Women.

She was a home maker and looked forward to spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and great granddaughters. Ann's family and church were her whole life.

On July 9, 1939 she was united in marriage to Horace Andrews. He predeceased her on June 28, 2005.

She leaves her family, sons Robert Andrews of Richmond VA, Richard and his wife Mary Andrews of Amsterdam and William and his wife Adrienne Andrews of Buxton ME, grandchildren David and his wife Lauren Andrews of Denver CO, and Michele and her husband Jeff Riedl of Webster, NY; great granddaughters Nina, Anna, Emma and Ella and nieces and nephews.

Ann was predeceased by brothers James and William Phoenix and sisters Ellen Jennings and Mary Morton.

Services are Monday afternoon at 1:00 pm at the United Methodist Church, Golf Course Rd. with the Rev. Greg DeSalvatore officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery.

Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the church on Monday from 11:00am until the time of the services.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to her beloved United Methodist Church, in care of Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue Amsterdam 12010.
