Irene L. Salton

Irene L. Salton, 93, formerly of Eagle Street, passed away Saturday at the Capstone Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing after a long illness.

She was born in Rochester, NY, on November 27, 1919 and was the daughter of the late John and Christine McConnel. She attended Rochester schools and resided in Amsterdam most of her life.

Irene was employed at Coleco Industries for many years, retiring in 1974.

She was a former member of St. Casmier's Church and was married to Steven A. Salton in 1947. He died in 1973.

Survivors include one son, Steven Salton and wife Cindy of Gloversville; one daughter, Christine Salton of Troy, NY; also, seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a graveside committal service Wednesday at 10:30 am at St. Stanislaus Cemetery with the Reverend John A. Califano officiating.

There will be no calling hours.

Arrangements are by De Stefano Funeral Home, Rt. 5-S, Amsterdam, NY.
