Meeting minutes

Ladies of Charity of Montgomery County

The Ladies of Charity of Montgomery County held their monthly meeting Aug. 26 at St. Stanislaus Church Hall. An opening prayer was said by all.

The treasurer's report was given by Betty Niski, approved by Gloria Yevoli and seconded by JoAnn Gegzno.

The secretary's report was given by CariAyn Zumbolo, approved by Dolores Leggerio and seconded by Karen Jurcsak.

Under old business, Karen Jurcsak reported on the annual golf tournament held at Amsterdam Municipal Golf Course June 27. It was considered a success. It was a beautiful day and a good time was had by all who attended.

Under new business, Ann DiCaterino reported on the Santa Workshop to be held at Wilkinson Residential Health Facility Saturday, Dec. 6 from 1 to 4 p.m. At this event, residents will shop from an assortment of gifts, and volunteers will assist them in wrapping their selections. Sign-up sheets were passed out seeking volunteers and donations.

Our potluck and new member installation will be held at the Sept. 23 meeting. Committee head Gloria Mancini passed out reminders of what each member is to bring, and reminded all members this meeting will begin at 6 p.m.

Anyone interested in joining this organization should contact Cheryl Skowronek at 842-4103 or Betty Niski at 842-4597.

Boscov shopping passes were available at the meeting for purchase. They are $5 each; the pass will provide 25 percent off all purchases Oct. 21.

Dawn Dybas volunteered to chair the fall fundraiser, more information will be forthcoming on this event.

Marilyn Andrews reported on the Thanksgiving giving campaign. We will again be assisting those less fortunate to help provide a wonderful Thanksgiving; more information will be provided at the September meeting.

Gloria Mancini reported on the Christmas giving campaign. Please see Gloria to sign-up to adopt a family or individual, and help make their holiday season a little brighter.

A motion to close the meeting was made by Nancy Alteri and was seconded by Dolores Leggerio. Closing prayers were said.

The next meeting will be held on Sept. 23 at 6 p.m.

Cranesville Country Cousins

The Cranesville Country Cousins Senior Group met Wednesday, Sept. 3 at 1 p.m. at the church hall.

In the absence of Bev Przybylo, president, Don Newland, vice president, lead the group with a prayer before refreshments.

The 50/25/25 winners were Bill Motyl and Lorraine Motyl.

Newland began the meeting with the pledge to the American flag. Secretary's report was given by Lorraine Motyl. Treasurer's report was given by Dee Krutz. Both reports were approved.

Get well cards will be sent to members Bev Przybylo, Walt Frisch, Guy Nimmo and Louise Blakeslee.

Under old business, a reminder that the festival will be held Sept. 12-13 at the Cranesville Church.

Under new business, the Perth seniors will be having a trip to Turning Stone in December. Anyone interested in going must let them know by Nov. 5.

Next meeting will be held Sept. 17 at noon with pizza and wings at the church hall. Bill Motyl made a motion to adjourn, and Mafalda Marsicano seconded. Bingo followed.
