Church to host fall festival

CRANESVILLE -- The Cranesville Church at Route 5 and Cranes Hollow Road is having a Herfst Feestdagen (fall festival) Sept. 12 and 13. The event will feature basket raffles, a penny table, 50/50 raffle, snack bar, plant sale, bake sale, and flea market Saturday.

Church hosting food festival

Trinity Lutheran Church, 42 Guy Park Ave., Amsterdam, is holding an international food festival Saturday, Sept. 27, from noon to 6 p.m., featuring enjoy foods from around the globe such as pastelillo, knockwurst and kraut, Scottish bridies, Italian wedding soup, pierogies, alcapurrias and pulled pork.

Desserts, beer and wine will also be available. There will be music, children's activities and a hillbilly horseshoe tournament.

SVAN plans fundraiser

NORTHVILLE -- The Sacandaga Valley Arts Network will hold a "turn up the heat" fundraiser Sept. 20 at 6 p.m. at the Inn at the Bridge, 641 Bridge St., to pay for the center's heat bills during the winter.

This event will feature entertainment, food and beverages, raffles and a cash bar.

Entertainment will be provided by Tee Mox,"instrumental acoustic music.

The cost will be $40 per person. Tickets are available at the Arts Center, the Inn at the Bridge, and from SVAN board members.

Bereavement session offered

St. Mary's Hospital will host "Living with Loss," a bereavement support group for free Tuesday, Sept. 9, at 6 p.m. Attorney Del Salmon will be the presenter. The meeting will be facilitated by a bereavement counselor. To register, or for more information call Amy Weinar of Community Hospice at 843-5412 ext 17.
