Water shutoff planned for repair

The city of Amsterdam is planning to repair a water valve on Edson Street Thursday and will be shutting off the water from 8 p.m. until 1 a.m. Friday.

Streets with no water will include Edson Street from North Mason Avenue to the city line; Sam Stratton Road; Dandreano Drive and Wollman Lane. Streets in the vicinity will experience dirty water and/or low water pressure.

After the water is restored, residents are advised that they may experience discolored or dirty tap water. This will dissipate by turning on the cold water for a while and flushing the lines.

Those with questions should call the Department of Public Works at 842-3691.

Reunion meeting is planned

The class of 1955 of Amsterdam High School will be holding a reunion meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 10 at noon at Amsterdam Muni to continue with plans for the 60th reunion next year. Any class member who would like to help with the reunion, please attend this meeting.
