DeSorbo paces Braves in cross country opener

FONDA — Dylan DeSorbo led area high school runners at the Fonda-Fultonville Invitational Saturday with a second-place finish in the small-school division.

The Fonda-Fultonville Braves senior clocked a time of 17 minutes, 55.11 seconds for the three-mile race. Taconic Hills sophomore Trey Hotaling won the division with a time of 17 minutes, 8.02 seconds.

Also posting top-10 finishes for the Braves were senior Dan Westman (18 minutes, 27.07 seconds) and junior Damian Freeman (18 minutes, 32.33 seconds).

Mayfield’s top finisher in the race was senior Josh Gallup, who needed 18 minutes, 17.13 seconds for the course.

On the girls’ side, Mayfield junior Emily Cromie finished in fifth place with a time of 25 minutes, 19.49 seconds, while sophomore Molly Lambo completed the course in 25 minutes, 27.66 seconds.
