Marian Yager

Mrs. Marian Yager, 81 years of age, of Storrie St., Amsterdam, passed away early Wednesday morning August 27, 2014 at St. Mary's Hospital in Amsterdam.

Born in Amsterdam, NY on January 19, 1933, a daughter of the late James and Katherine Bloomquist Marotta. She was a lifelong area resident and attended Amsterdam schools.

Mrs. Yager was a homemaker and raised five children whom she loved dearly. She enjoyed spending time with her family and going to Saratoga and Turning Stone.

She was of the Lutheran Faith and was a member of St. Luke's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Amsterdam.

She married Gene Yager who passed away in 1995.

Marian is survived by her three sons, Gene "Rick" Yager and his wife Dolores of Amsterdam, James Yager and his wife Barb of Florida and Timothy "Tim" Yager of Amsterdam; two daughters, Katherine Gugliemelli of Amsterdam and Laura Yager of Amsterdam; one brother, James (Carol) Marotta of Florida; six grandchildren, Amy, Christopher, Allyson, Becky, Justin and Sean; nine great- grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

Funeral services will be held on Friday August 29, 2014 at 11:00AM at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam with Rev. Dr. John Califano presiding.

Interment will follow in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Amsterdam.
