Louis A. Cirillo

Louis A. Cirillo, 88, of Liverpool, NY, passed away Friday, August 15, 2014, at St. Joseph's Hospital, Syracuse, NY, after a long illness.

He was born in Naples, Italy November 11, 1925 and was the son of he late Ralph and Marguerite Orifice Cirillo.

He moved to Gloversville at an early age and was a graduate of Gloversville Schools and received a Bachelor's Degree from Ithaca College.

Mr. Cirillo was an honorably discharged veteran from the US Marines during WW II having served in the South Pacific Theater.

He was employed for 35 years with the NYS Health Dept. as a Physical Therapist, retiring in 1988 and was married to the former Rita A. Di Caprio June 11, 1950.

He was pre-deceased by two brothers; Nick and Matthew Cirillo.

Survivors in addition to his wife Rita are two sons; Paul (Jennie) Cirillo of Greenville, South Carolina; and Louis (Betty) Cirillo, of Greer, South Carolina; one brother; Thomas Cirillo of Amsterdam; four sisters; Josephine Campaniele, Gloversville, NY; Carmella Russo, Auburn, NY; Fannie Harringtion, Florida and Rose of Los Angeles, CA. Also, seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 am Wednesday, August 20th, from De Stefano Funeral Home, Rt. 5-S, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:15 am at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church.

Interment will follow in Mt. Carmel Cemetery.

Calling hours will be Tuesday 5:00-7:00 pm at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Southside Veterans Association in c/o the funeral home.
