Mildred (Millie) Dziewit, 95, of Voorhees Road, Perth peacefully passed away on Wednesday morning August 13, 2014, at the Sarah Jane Sanford Home, Amsterdam.

She was born in Binghamton, NY on March 3, 1919 a daughter of the late Michael and Mary Bartoszek and was educated in local Amsterdam schools. Mildred was a skilled worker in the Amsterdam carpet mills, and later worked as a floor supervisor at Hanover Dress Manufacturing Company in Amsterdam.

She was a member of St. Stanislaus Church in Amsterdam for many years and later was a member of St. Joseph's Church in Broadalbin.

Mildred loved children. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren will cherish the memories they have of her and the happy times spent with her.

She married her beloved husband, Frank, on September 15, 1939. He predeceased her on June 30, 2014. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by two sisters, Mary Ambrose and Jean Jakubowski.

She is survived by her son, Kenneth (Linda) De Witt of Edinburg; four grandchildren, Amy (Richard) DeAngelis, Jack (Kim) De Witt, Molly (Doug) Doyle, and Rebecca (Eric) Black; nine great-grandchildren, Mia, Aidan, Samantha, Blake, Colin, Chase, Brendan, Lucas, and Penelope (Poppy).

A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday August 18, 2014 at 11 am at St. Stanislaus Church, Amsterdam.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at the Sarah Jane Sanford Home for the loving care they provided to her during the last year of her life.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Sarah Jane Sanford Home, 69 Guy Park Avenue Amsterdam.

Arrangements are by the Robert M. Halgas Funeral Home, Inc., Johnstown.
