Catherine DiBlasi, 89, passed away peacefully Wednesday afternoon at St. Mary's Healthcare with her loving family at her side.

Born in Amsterdam on Feb. 19, 1925, she was a 1943 graduate of Wilbur H. Lynch High School.

She married Meadeo DiBlasi on August 26, 1945 and together they owned and operated Meadeo DiBlasi Insurance which was passed on to their sons.

Catherine will always be remembered for her fabulous cooking and baking, love of travel and times spent together with her family.

She was a communicant of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church.

Her husband Meadeo predeceased her on April 4, 1988 and her son Joseph DiBlasi on July 1, 2010.

She leaves her son Daniel and his wife RoseMary DiBlasi of Amsterdam; daughter Kathy Ann and her husband Tony Hennies of Cincinnati, Ohio; daughter-in-law Kathleen DiBlasi of Amsterdam; grandchildren Brian M. , Daniel J. and Joseph DiBlasi Jr.; Lisa A. Jones and Autumn C. Ward; great grandchildren Ashton Meadeo, Samuel B. and Chase D. DiBlasi, and Colin J. Jones.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 11:00 am at St. Mary's Church, 156 East Main Street Amsterdam by Fr. Pascal A. Iannotti.

Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Saturday morning from 9:00am to 10:45 am at the Chapel of St. Mary's Church.

Interment is in St. Mary's Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mary's Church, Amsterdam 12010.
