Four charged in burglaries

PERTH -- State Police in Fonda announced Sunday the arrests of four people for several alleged burglaries in the Perth and Broadalbin areas.

Troopers said the burglaries took place in the early morning of Aug. 5. Several homeowners were reporting their houses broken into and mainly electronics were stolen. While troopers were investigating, the four suspects were interviewed, and troopers said they later confessed to the burglaries and car larcenies. The four subjects arrested were:

* Margaret Mulligan, 21, from Fort Johnson

* Devin Barton, 19, from New York City

* Kenneth Gay, 17, from Schenectady,

* Jahmel Hamlin, 16, from Scotia

All four subjects were arrested on two counts of second-degree burglary and remanded to the Fulton County Correctional Facility. They are due back in Perth Town Court at 5:30 p.m. today.
