Mrs. Elizabeth C. Pranys, 89, of First Avenue, Tribes Hill, NY passed away Thursday, August 7, 2014 at St. Mary's Healthcare.

She was born October 17, 1924 in Amsterdam, New York a daughter of the late Francis and Pauline Gralewski Chorzelewski.

She was a graduate of the former Wilbur H. Lynch High School - Class of 1942 and always lived in the area.

For several years, she was employed by Mr. Discount and Liberty Enterprises before retiring. She was also a homemaker.

She was an active member of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church and it's Rosary Society. She was also a member of the Iroquois and Glen Mohawk Seniors where she held various offices. She was a volunteer with the Red Cross and a significant blood donor with over 150 pints given. She enjoyed cooking and growing flowers and vegetables in her gardens.

Survivors include, two daughters, Margaret Nash and Elizabeth Hentnik and three sons, Peter, Paul and Joseph Pranys; ten grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by four brothers and six sisters and her grandson, Matthew Hentnik.

Relatives and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial with Rev. Pat Gallagher, O.F.M. at 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 11, 2014 at Sacred Heart Church, Third Avenue, Tribes Hill, New York.

Interment will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Amsterdam, NY.

Calling hours are 3:00-5:00 p.m. Sunday, August 10, 2014 at the Jendrzejczak Funeral Home, 200 Church Street, Amsterdam, New York.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Sacred Heart Church or to GAVAC.
