Tambasco, Pasquarelli propel National squad

Lorenzo Tambasco and Massimo Pasquarelli each had a triple to lead the National team to a 13-7 victory over the American squad in the Amsterdam Youth Baseball League Rookies Division Moving Up game Wednesday night at Isabel's Field.

All youngsters competing will now play in the Minors Division.

Preston Candela added a double and Derek Goebel had a single for the winners. Goebel also helped with six strikeouts in two innings of work. Also pitching for the National team were Colin McLaughlin, Marco Bottisti and Pasquarelli.

Rhys Urbanczyk had two singles to lead the American team. Andrew Baake, Jordan Schmidtman, Patrick Vidulich and Gabriel Rivera helped out with a single apiece.

Anthony Antonelli was strong on the mound, pitching two scoreless innings while striking out six and walking one. Blaze Post struck out three in an inning of work. Lucas Davey and Jaime Innes also worked an inning.
