Beatles tribute band is bringing stadium concert to Amsterdam

Tuesday, August 05, 2014 - Updated: 10:28 AM

Hey Jude ... The Tribute, a Beatles cover band, will perform a "Shea Stadium Experience" concert Aug. 15 at Shuttleworth Park in Amsterdam.

The band will perform a tribute to The Beatles Shea Stadium concert -- the same day in history that the Fab Four performed their first major stadium concert at Shea in 1965.

The lads will perform many favorites such as "Ticket to Ride," "A Hard Day's Night," and "Act Naturally."

The quintet consists of Tom Raider as John Lennon, Brad Jarvis as Paul McCartney, Rick Bedrosian as George Harrison, Don Ackerman as Ringo Starr, and keyboardist Rich Coogan.

The Albany-based Beatles look-alike, sound-alike band dresses in authentic costume -- from their mop-top haircuts and tailored suits, to their imported from Liverpool boots, and perform with Ludwig drums, Vox amps, and Rickenbacker, Gretsch, Hofner, and Epiphone guitars.

Fans of all ages are encouraged to sing and dance, and meet the band for their autographs and a free photograph with the band, which will be displayed on its website at www.heyjudethetribute.com.

Gates open at 5:30 p.m. Happy hour is from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Showtime is 7 to 9:10 p.m. Tickets are $10 each, or $5 for children ages 12 and under. Purchase tickets at the gate, or contact Shuttleworth Park Assistant General Manager Dan Nelli by calling 320-4868 or e-mailing Dan@AmsterdamMohawks.com and/or Shuttleworth Park President Brian Spagnola by calling 791-7546 or e-mailing gm@AmsterdamMohawks.com.
