BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. (AP) -- David Bradley is having quite a year.

From the hit British series "Broadchurch" to HBO's "Game of Thrones" to "An Adventure in Space and Time," about the creation of the long-running "Doctor Who" TV series -- never mind his role as the cruel custodian Argus Filch in the "Harry Potter" films.

Bradley was introduced at the BBC America Television Critics Association panel Thursday as "fresh off being the world's worst wedding host ever," a joke referring to his "Game of Thrones" character Walder Frey, who played a pivotal role in the brutal Red Wedding episode that killed off some key characters.

"I'm not exactly watching my back," Bradley said of encountering "Game of Thrones" fans since the episode aired. "I've watched a lot of footage on YouTube of people's reactions to watching it. It's just amazing that you're part of something that can generate all those emotions and ... doing the scene, I just enjoy every moment of it. I enjoyed it rather too much actually."

Bradley attended the BBC America panel to promote his role as William Hartnell, the first actor to play Doctor Who, in "An Adventure in Space and Time," which will air in November, coinciding with the 50th anniversary of "Doctor Who."

The 71-year-old actor also appears in the upcoming BBC America series "Broadchurch." The eight-episode murder-mystery drama has aired in Britain. It premieres in the U.S. next month.

Bradley enjoys the variety of roles he's played.

"You enjoy the contrast and getting something thrown at you different from the thing you've just done," he said.
