David A. Savarese

David A. Savarese, 51, passed away Wednesday morning at St. Mary's Healthcare after a long and difficult illness.

Born in Amsterdam on October 2, 1962, he was the son of Dorothy Bochniak Savarese and the late Salvatore Savarese.

He was educated in Amsterdam schools. David was a member of the US National Guard and through them he received his GED.

He began a career as security guard working for NBT Bank, the Clark Museum in Wilmington Mass., and groundskeeper for several golf courses in New York and Massachusetts.

He was an avid hunter and loved being outdoors, in touch with nature.

David was a parishioner of St. Stanislaus Roman Catholic Church.

He leaves his mother Dorothy A. Savarese of Amsterdam; his son Glenn David Savarese of Northville; brother Paul B. Savarese of Broadalbin; sister Bonnie (Carmen) Pascuito of Ballston Spa; nieces and nephews Amanda and Ashley Savarese and Carmen and Amara Pascuito; aunts, uncles, cousins and many dear friends who meant so much to him.

A service to celebrate his life will take place Friday at 5:00 pm at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue. Fr. O. Robert DeMartinis, officiating.

Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Friday from 3:00-5:00 pm prior to the service.

Interment will take place at St. Stanislaus' Cemetery at the family's convenience.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Montgomery Co. Office for Aging 135 Guy Park Ave. Amsterdam 12010 or the Leatherstocking Honor Flight PO Box 321, Cobleskill NY 12043.
