St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church, 24 Pulaski St., will sell pierogi -- potato with cheese, and cabbage -- from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., fresh or frozen, $8 a dozen.

The Amsterdam Free Library will host Summer Reading Program: Science and Motion: Catapult at 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. At 3 p.m. More Summer Fun: Movies @ the Library.

AMSTERDAM

The Amsterdam Knights of Columbus will host an ice cream social from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. in their parking lot, 193 W. Main St. The event will include ice cream, cake, a bounce house, raffles and live music, all for $5 per person. Hot dogs and hamburgers are available at an additional charge. AMSTERDAM

The GFWC Century Club is hosting a chicken and biscuit take-out dinner from 4 to 6 p.m. The cost is $10 per dinner and the menu includes chicken in gravy with mixed vegetables (peas, corn and carrots) over a warm fresh baked biscuit, real mashed potatoes with gravy, jellied cranberry sauce and a choice of vanilla or chocolate cake for dessert. AMSTERDAM

An educational camp will take place at the Walter Elwood Museum from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. entitled Risk Takers and Printmakers -- Silk Screening 101. Learn the art of silk screening which is another form of printmaking. Bring a t-shirt or pillow case from home to silk screen. The class will examine examples of print making in the museum collections and exhibit rooms. Camp fees for a daily rate will be $15 per child or $40 per week, per child, (ask for multi-child discounts). Parents are welcome to stay with any child at no extra charge and are encouraged to stay with children under the age of five. All supplies are included in the cost of the camp. BROADALBIN

The Broadalbin Youth Commission will hold signups for the Little Patriots Football Program from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Broadalbin municipal building. This sign-up is for all three levels: flag for first and second grade; juniors for third and fourth grades; seniors for fifth and sixth grades. The cost is $45 for flag (first and second grades) and $85 for juniors and seniors (grades 3-6). On-line signups are available also at www.byckids.com. FORT PLAIN

Court Catherine Esther 1264 Catholic Daughters will sponsor an ice cream social in conjunction with the Fort Plain Summer Concerts from 7 to 9 p.m. in Haslett Park. Brownie sundaes, make-your-own sundaes and root beer floats will be offered for sale. Music for the evening will be supplied by Dick Soleburgh, the Sun Mountain Fiddler.

GLOVERSVILLE

The regular monthly meeting of Mountain Valley Hospice volunteers will be held in the Conference Room at 108 Steele Ave. at 1 p.m.

JOHNSTOWN

The Alzheimer's Association of Northeastern NY will hold a seminar entitled "The Basics: Memory Loss, Dementia and Alzheimer's Disease" at Healthlink Littauer, Johnstown YMCA, 213 Harrison St., from 2 to 3 p.m. A one hour overview of dementia and Alzheimer's disease and their progression will be discussed. NORTHVILLE

The Red Rooster Cafe will host Karen Sagen, Health Link community health educator, who will present a program on "Preventing Skin Cancer." The program follows the weekly congregate meal, which is served from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Programs are held Thursdays at the Red Rooster Cafe (Pink Chicken) at the corner of Bridge and Main streets, Northville. Those who wish to enjoy the OFA meal are asked to call Fulton County OFA at 736-5650 to make lunch reservations.

The First Baptist Church of Amsterdam, 479 Guy Park Ave., will hold "Scoops of Blessings," an ice cream social community fundraiser from 5 to 8 p.m. All proceeds will benefit the Fulton Montgomery Long Term Recovery Committee assisting victims of local disasters. Tdere will be tickets available for a drawing for an ice-cream themed basket. There will also be a silent auction. This event will take place rain or shine. The Broadalbin United Methodist Church, 65 N. Main St., will hold its annual auction and fair. The auction will begin at 6:30 p.m. with a preview at 4:30 p.m. There will be food and a rummage sale. Bring your own chairs. The Canajoharie-Fort Plain Summer Drama Club will present "Bye, Bye Birdie," a musical comedy, at 7 p.m. in the Arkell Performing Arts Center at Canajoharie High School. Tickets are $6 general admission, $4 for students and senior citizens, and children under 4 are free.

NORTHVILLE

The Friends of the Northville Library will hold its annual ice cream social and raffle, from 5 to 8 p.m. The cost is $3 and will include ice cream, homemade cake and a beverage. The raffle will consist of a variety of art works including photography, cross stitch, acrylic and wood turning. The event will be held in the library's gardens.

ST. JOHNSVILLE

Stone Soup will entertain with a variety of original and folk songs. Featured are Suzanne Bladek, vocalist, on guitar; Joseph Sinchak on Mandolin; Nick Friers on guitar; Peter Liljeberg on bass, plus multi-talented David Bladek. Bring lawn chairs.

STONE ARABIA

The Council of Trinity Lutheran Church, Route 10, Stone Arabia, will hold a summer sale from 4 to 8 p.m. Trinity will use the proceeds to maintain the church and grounds plus a portion will be given back to the surrounding community. Priced to sell are dishes, cooking pots and pans, toys, puzzles, some clothing, household items, decorations, sports equipment, electronics, and a huge selection of books.

The Riverlink Park concert series, presented by the Amsterdam Waterfront Foundation, continues with a performance by Maryleigh Roohan at 7 p.m. down by the river.

BROADALBIN

The Broadalbin United Methodist Church, 65 N. Main St., will hold its annual fair from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. with baked goods, plants, books, trash and treasure and food sales and a rummage sale. Vinny Saj will provide acoustic guitar music from noon to 1 p.m. Donations are welcome and may be brought to the church the week of July 21 from 6 to 8 p.m. Contact the church office at 883-5247 to arrange for pick up or for more information.

The Broadalbin Youth Commission will hold its third annual Junk-in-the-Trunk Flea Market from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the high school parking lot. Individuals, organizations, crafters and businesses are invited to load up your trunks (or truck beds) and set up to sell your crafts, merchandise, attic treasurers, basement leftovers, or junk and enjoy a potential for hundreds of customers. There will be a $15 charge for each parking space occupied ($25 for two). Spaces will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. Bring your digital lens reflex (DSLR) camera and your Mac or Windows laptop if you have image editing software. Your questions and requests will drive this workshop's content. Contact Harry Wirtz at 863-8636 before registering. Tuition is $90; SVAN members $85.

NORTHVILLE

"The Bluebillies" band will perform at the Northville Waterfront Park, Main Street, at 7 p.m. The event is sponsored by the Sacandaga Valley Arts Network (SVAN). Admission is free at outdoor SVAN music events. Voluntary goodwill donations are accepted.

St. Ann's Episcopal Church, 37 Division St., will hold its community meal from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The menu is ham, macaroni & cheese, green beans, and cupcakes. The meal is free and open to all. Sorry, no takeout.

Folksinger and storyteller Tim Van Egmond will kick off this year's Not Just For Kids storytelling series at the Schoharie Crossing Visitor Center at 6 p.m. His program "Mystery, Merriment and Magic-Tuneful Tales of Music and Dancing" will range from a Sufi creation story to an Irish tale about pursing an enchanted tune all with the rippling accompaniment of the hammered dulcimer. An Evening of Cole Porter will be presented at 7 p.m. at The Revival Hall on Main Street. Pianist/composer Malcolm Kogut and vocalists Chris Cucinella and Lauren Roberts of Upswing Duo will bring to life the best of Porter's music from Broadway hits and movies. A $10 donation will include refreshments. The Revival hall is located at the former 1845 Wells Baptist Church. Call 924-2041 for more information.

The Amsterdam Teachers' Association, with support from NYSUT & the AFT, and in cooperation with the First Book Organization, will be hosting a book giveaway for kids of all ages from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Distribution sites will be at the summer program at Bacon School, the Creative Connections Arts Center on East Main Street, and the pavilion at Veterans Field.

ST. JOHNSVILLE

The Sun Mountain Fiddler, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., St. Johnsville Marina, St. Johnsville.
