FONDA -- An Amsterdam man who was arrested on child pornography charges last year was sentenced to up to three years in prison Monday.

William S. Davis, of 27 Academy St., was sentenced at Montgomery County Court in connection with his plea bargain in June, according to officials in the office of District Attorney James E. "Jed" Conboy.

Davis pleaded guilty to possessing an odd scene of a sexual performance of a child. He was arrested twice -- first in January, and then in March -- on the charges, which stem from an investigation by the Amsterdam Police Department in November 2012.

Police said at the time of the original arrest, the investigation had been started by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the New York State Division of Parole, after child pornography had been found on Davis' computer.

The images reportedly dealt with children under the age of 16.

Davis has been incarcerated since his initial arrest.
