After the war she became a graduate of New York University and in October of 1955 entered into Holy Matrimony with Herbert T. Thackrah, a union which lasted until his death in December of 1980.

She served as a Pre-K and elementary school teacher in the Greater Amsterdam School District for many years, retiring in 1982.

She is also survived by a brother, William Foltman of Princetown, NY, as well as her Wilkinson family, whose loving care and friendship made her final years cheerful ones.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 19 at 10:30 at the Jendrzejczak Funeral Home, 200 Church Street, Amsterdam, NY, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary's Church at 11:00 with Rev. Stanislaus Swierzowski officiating, after which she will be buried with full military honors at St. John's Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends for one hour prior to the services.
