CAROGA LAKE

The Caroga Lake Chamber of Commerce and the Caroga Lake Volunteer Fire Department invite everyone to participate in the "Community Spirit" parade at 7 p.m. The parade will be part of the two-day town block party taking place at Sherman's Park Caroga Lake. All businesses, groups and organizations are welcome to participate. Line up for the parade at 6 p.m.

JOHNSTOWN

The Johnstown Reformed Church, 351 N. Perry St., will have a rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.. Clothing, household items, books, baked goods and many next to new items, will be for sale. Lunch will also be available. For more information contact the church office at 762-7869.

NORTHVILLE

Opening ceremonies for the Rotary Club's sixth annual Woodworking and Fine Arts Weekend will begin at 5 p.m. More than 50 artists will participate this year.

AMSTERDAM

The Riverlink Park concert series, presented by the Amsterdam Waterfront Foundation, continues with a performance by Almonte at 7 p.m. down by the river.

CAROGA LAKE

The Caroga Historical Museum hosts its annual craft fair from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the museum grounds, 145 London Bridge Road. The Durey Creek Bluegrass Band will provide musical entertainment from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

EDINBURG

The Edinburg Historical Society will hold its 23rd Historic Edinburg Day Saturday, July 19, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Rural Museum at 11North Shore Road at the Edinburg Four Corners.

FONDA

The Fonda High School Alumni Association is planning its annual banquet to be held at the Winner's Circle. Alumni who attended or graduated are welcome. Classes to be honored are 1944, 1949 and 1954. Anyone interested in helping with the reunion is welcome to do so by calling 853-4334 for more information.

HAGAMAN

The Hagaman Volunteer Fire Department presents its sixth annual Music Fest with live music, food and fun, at 2 p.m. Doors open at 1:30 p.m. at the Hagaman Fire Station, 126 S. Pawling. Beth Zaje will perform at 2 p.m.; Anything Goes, 3 p.m.; Hairband Riot, 5 p.m.; Nuthin Fancy, 7 p.m.; Max Violet, 9 p.m. Raffles will include kayak pack, grill, drill kit and a 50/50. Available to eat will be hot dogs, hamburgers, french fries, sausage and peppers, fried dough, soda and other refreshments. There will also be a beer tent. Tickets will be sold at the door for $5. Children 12 and under will be admitted free.

The First Presbyterian Church of Johnstown, 37 S. Market St., will hold a free community lunch from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. All are welcome. Use Clinton Street entrance.

Loopie's Pub's eighth annual golf scramble will be held at Hales Mills Country Club with shotgun start at noon. Cost is $65 per person and includes greens fees, cart, food and prizes. For more information contact Loopie's Pub at 829-8000.

MAYFIELD

A summer barbecue and lawn sale will take place rain or shine at Mayfield United Methodist Church, 19 N. Main St. The barbecue will be from noon to 3 p.m. Tickets are $9 for adults and $4.50 for children and will feature hamburgers, hot dogs, sausage, pulled pork, summer salads, fresh corn on the cob, assorted desserts and beverages. The lawn sale will take place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The recently published cookbook by the church will also be available for purchase. For any questions contact Sandy Aesch at 725-6309.

BROADALBIN

The first softball game in memory of Katy Peterson will take place at the Robin's Nest from 2 to 8 p.m. with game time at 2 p.m. The cost is $15 and includes memorial bracelet and barbecue. Music will be provided by The North and South Dakotas with a special appearance by Emerald City Lights. MAYFIELD

Gloversville Community Music presents "American Contemporaries" at 7 p.m. at the Mayfield Central Presbyterian Church, 22 N. Main St., Mayfield. Tickets are $8 at the door and $6 pre-sale. They can be purchased in advance through the musicians involved. The concert will feature both the Glove City Winds and the Glove City Community Winds performing works by American composers, including Aaron Copland, Ron Nelson, Kevin Puts, Kurt Weill and John Williams.

Covenant Church, 9 Trinity Place, Amsterdam, will host vacation Bible school from 9 a.m. to noon July 21-25, for children ages 4 to 12. There will be games, Bible stories, snacks, crafts, music and more. There will also be a family reception night. The time will be determined.

BROADALBIN

The regular monthly board of education meeting of the Broadalbin-Perth Central School District will be held at 6 p.m. in the high school Virtual AP Room.

HAGAMAN

The village board of trustees will hold a special meeting at Pawling Hall at 7 p.m. to open paving bids.

An educational camp will take place at the Walter Elwood Museum from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. entitled Risk Takers and Printmakers -- Andy Warhol. Examine the life and works of printmaker and American pop artist Andy Warhol. Students will make fish prints using the monoprint printmaking technique and block printing employed by Warhol. Camp fees for a daily rate will be $15 per child or $40 per week, per child, (ask for multi-child discounts). Parents are welcome to stay with any child at no extra charge and are encouraged to stay with children under the age of five. All supplies are included in the cost of the camp. The North Bush United Methodist Church, 1009 North Bush Road, will host an ice cream social from 4 to 7 p.m. In addition to ice cream sundaes, hamburgers, hot dogs, assorted salads, beverages, cakes and pies, will be available for purchase. The Durey Creek Bluegrass Band will provide musical entertainment from 5 to 7 p.m. All proceeds from the food sales will be used to support the church and its missions. An educational camp will take place at the Walter Elwood Museum from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. entitled Risk Takers and Printmakers -- Banksy in London and NYC. Banksy, renowned rebel is a pseudonymous England-based graffiti artist. His satirical street art combines dark humor, political and social commentary with graffiti in a distinctive stenciling technique. The class will draw and cut stencils of many every day around the town and common street objects and images and then stencil them with paint inside and outside the museum. Camp fees for a daily rate will be $15 per child or $40 per week, per child, (ask for multi-child discounts). Parents are welcome to stay with any child at no extra charge and are encouraged to stay with children under the age of five. All supplies are included in the cost of the camp. Survivors of a Loved One's Suicide (SOLOS) Support Group will be held at 7 p.m. at St. Mary's Healthcare. This is a support group for those who have lost a family member, friend or colleague to suicide.
