Frederick L. Wilcox, 70, passed away peacefully at his home on July 10, 2014. Commonly known as 'Fred" to his family and friends, he was born in Gloversville to the late Frederick and Rebecca Devoe Wilcox. He attended Mayfield High School, and worked at GE as a machinist for 39 years until his retirement.

Fred leaves behind his beloved wife; Mary Lou Wilcox, his only sister; Linda Joyce of Gloversville, his children; Peter (Dorene) Wilcox, Mark Wilcox, Tracie Nellis, Timothy (Laura) Wilcox, Christopher (Melissa) Houghton, Jason (Lynn) Houghton, a niece; Karen Veeder, and nephew; Christopher Brownell, and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, a grand-niece and a grand nephew.

A graveside service will be held for Fred on Thursday, July 17, 2014 at 2 PM at the Foster Hill Cemetery in Galway. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the Galway Fire Department in Fred's memory. Arrangements are in trusted to the Richard J. Ryan Funeral Home in Galway.
