David Aaron Leonard

David Aaron Leonard, 57, of Fish House died Monday afternoon July 7, 2014 at St. Mary's Healthcare, Amsterdam with loving family at his side.

He was born in Amsterdam on March 4, 1957 a son of William and Josephine Bakuzonis Leonard and was a 1975 graduate of Broadalbin High School. Dave later earned an Associate's Degree in radio broadcasting. He was a lifelong area resident.

Dave worked at the former Longwell Chevrolet and later was employed in broadcasting at WENT in Gloversville followed by WNYJ in Schenectady. He worked at High Rollers in Amsterdam, where he met his beloved Kelly. At the time of his death, Dave was employed at Lexington Center in Gloversville as a senior computer technician and had been employed there for the past twenty five years.

Dave enjoyed snowmobiling in winter and boating in summer. He loved spending time at the lake with family and friends. His greatest joy was his family. Dave was a caring person who always was willing to help others.

Survivors include his wife, Kelly Quinn Leonard, whom he married on June 5, 2004; a son, Aaron David Leonard, at home; his mother-and father-in-law, James and Marilyn Quinn of Amsterdam; brothers-in-law, Michael, Gary, and James Quinn all of Amsterdam, and several cousins.

Funeral services will be held on Friday at 10:00 am at the Robert M. Halgas Funeral Home, Inc. 111 County Highway 106 (Corner of Route 29 & Black Street) Johnstown, with Deacon Edward Solomon, officiating.

Burial will be in Northampton Cemetery.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 4:00-7:00 pm at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, in care of the funeral home.
