MAYFIELD -- A two-car accident at the intersection of routes 30 and 30A Tuesday sent one motorist to the hospital with what state troopers believe are minor injuries.
State Police spokesman Mark Cepiel said Lowell Montgomery, 79, of Gloversville, was making a left turn southbound onto Route 30A from Route 30, when his vehicle struck that of Christine Anagnostopulos, 66, of Fonda, and caused her car to roll over into the roadway.
Cepiel said Anagnostopulos was traveling northbound from Route 30A onto Route 30, when her vehicle was struck by Montgomery's.
Montgomery told police he did not see Anagnostopulos, and failed to yield at the light.
Anagnostopulos was transported to Nathan Littauer Hospital for minor bleeding on her elbow, lower arm and hand, Cepiel said.
Montgomery was examined by emergency personnel, but did not need medical treatment, police said. He was ticketed for failure to yield the right away.
Cepiel said the airbags deployed in Anagnostopulos' car.
The Mayfield Volunteer Fire Department, Fulton County Sheriff's Department and state police responded to the scene. The collision resulted in a temporary closure of Route 30A, until the wreckage was cleaned from the roadway.
