Katy M. Peterson, RN

Katy M. Peterson, RN of Midline Road, Amsterdam passed away Friday, June 27, 2014 as the result of a motor vehicle accident.

Born in Amsterdam, NY on July 22, 1986 she was the daughter of Donald and Donna Flansburg Peterson.

A lifelong area resident, Katy was a graduate of Broadalbin- Perth Central School. She later went on to attend FMCC where she obtained her degree in nursing.

Katy was employed as a nurse for Nathan Littauer Hospital. She was also a clinical instructor for H-F-M BOCES.

Katy will be remembered as a vibrant individual who was "happy." She loved her family and friends and spending time with them. An out spoken individual, she was never afraid to let you know what her thoughts were. She was also giving and generous and willing to help anyone in need. Katy was a true friend to so many, and enjoyed helping and caring for people. She enjoyed cooking and being the life of any party. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her parents; her siblings, Jeffery (Janelle) Peterson and Molly Peterson; one nephew, Waylon Peterson; her maternal grandfather, George Flansburg; her partner and best friend, "Butch" Stack, Jr; several aunts, uncles, cousins, colleagues and countless friends.

A Service of Remembrance will take place on Monday, June 30, 2014 at 7:15p.m. at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam. Calling hours will be held prior to the service from 4:00 until 7:00p.m. at the funeral home.

Private interment will take place in St. Stanislaus Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Katy's name may be made to Community Hospice, 246 Manny's Corner Road, Amsterdam, NY 12010.
