Mohawks game postponed due to poor weather

Thursday, June 26, 2014 - Updated: 10:16 AM

ALBANY -- The Amsterdam Mohawks will have to wait a little longer to try and extend their win streak to 11 games and try to move into first place in the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League East Division as their scheduled game Wednesday night against the Albany Dutchmen was postponed due to inclement weather.

Connor Johnstone was slated to get the start on the mound for the Mohawks (12-6), who have won 10 in a row to pull within a half-game of the division-leading Mohawk Valley DiamondDawgs. Every game in the PGCBL was postponed Wednesday night, and Amsterdam has a scheduled off day today before Mohawk Valley visits Shuttleworth Park Friday night.

The Mohawks and Dutchmen will likely make up Wednesday's game as part of a doubleheader July 7 in Albany. Amsterdam will also visit the Dutchmen July 11 and July 30.
