Born Stase Ilgaite in Seth, Lithuania August 10, 1913, passed away at home, June 23rd with her sons by her side.

After marrying Andrius, became Stasa Dzekciorius (Sadie Dzek).

Her strong will and determination helped her growing family survive fleeing from her war torn homeland and eventually to America. Now a family of six in 1950, they settled in Amsterdam, NY, where she impressed everyone with her cooking and opened popular "RUTA'S" Restaurant.

The American Lithuanian Club and St. Casimir's Church Rectory treasured her cooking skills and was always dependable for many fund raisers. Close friends helped her take up bowling, golf and many hours of pinnocle card games. She was always a preferred partner in everything.

Andrius passed in 1966 and she continued to be devoted to her family. She made summers at Sacandaga Camp memorable for three generations.

She is survived by four sons, Raymond (Barbara), Donald (Joyce), Algis, and Stanley; 13 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Love was the only four letter word she knew.

Funeral services will be at St. Casimir's Cemetery Chapel, Amsterdam, NY at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, June 28th, 2014, for family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Community Hospice of Columbia/Green; Catskill, NY - truly made up of Angels.

Arrangements are by the Amsterdam Funeral Chapel, 13 Belmont Pace, Amsterdam, NY 12010.
