TOWN OF AMSTERDAM -- An Illinois man was charged with petit larceny for allegedly shoplifting at Price Chopper on Route 30 Friday.

Troopers said they arrested Wilfredo M. Garcia, 27, of Chicago, after receiving a shoplifting complaint.

Garcia was arraigned at town court, and remanded to the Montgomery County Jail on $2,500 bail, troopers said.

Garcia is scheduled to answer the charges in July.
