Robin's Nest beats Mohawks in local men's softball

Greg Ille, Josh Nethaway and Bob Renda had three hits apiece to lead Robin's Nest to a 6-2 win over the Mohawks in Amsterdam Recreation Softball League action Thursday night.

The trio combined for five extra-base hits -- a triple and a double from Renda, two doubles from Ille and a double from Nethaway -- while Renda and Ille drove in two runs each. Chris Porter added two singles for Robin's Nest, which also got hits from Kyle Hanson, Chad Mathias, Steve Rose and John Roser.

Robin's Nest snapped a 1-1 tie with three runs in the third inning and never looked behind.

Roser earned the win on the mound for Robin's Nest.

Chris Garrison had a single and a double, Jay Joefs tripled, Bobby Hoefs singled twice and both Bob Lennon and Geno Agresta singled for the Mohawks.
